Temple of Garni

$70.00

Located in the Gotayk province of Armenia, the Temple of Garni is the only remaining Greco-Romanian building in Armenia. Built sometime in the 1st Century as a temple to the sun god Mihr, the classical architecture follows the Ancient Greek ionic order with a perimeter colonnade on an elevated platform. Though its design has no influence on subsequent Armenian architecture, the former temple remains an iconic marker and destination in Armenia.
